Concrete Structure Investigations Ltd are non-destructive inspection and detection specialists to consulting engineers, and the construction and civil industries nationwide.
We started with a team of 2, scanning buildings throughout New Zealand. It was obvious there was a lot of range to develop expertise in the field of non-destructive testing. Instead of settling for the generic and ordinary, we did our own in depth research to maximise the capabilities of the technology to get the results required by our clients.

Rebar Corrosion Determination
RCD is a testing method that helps determine the susceptibility of uncoated steel reinforcement to corrosion. The service estimates the electrical potential at intervals in continuous reinforcing steel, and therefore helps quantify the rate at which steel can be expected to oxidise (rust).
Low Strain Impact Integrity Tests
Pile Integrity Testing is a low-strain, non-destructive testing method that assesses the condition of cast-in- place piles, drilled shafts or driven concrete/timber piles.
Corrosion Control
Corrosion control is preventing or slowing corrosion. CSI control corrosion by applying sacrificial anodes to steel reinforcement to prevent/slow rust. A rusting rebar has a higher volume than its non-oxidised counterpart and, when encased in concrete, causes it to crack. Sacrificial anodes slow this process by reducing the iron to ensure rust does not develop. The anodes are inserted and grouted into predrilled holes, and wired to the reinforcement.
