There are many instances where the Level 2 ASPs, and in a few cases unauthorized contractors, have fitted the cable covers also known as tiger tails for energized overhead lines. The consideration must be given in eliminating any hazard just by de-energizing supply for the duration of work, or where there’s any danger of the physical damage to overhead service the temporary removal. Where it isn’t practicable, and separating hazard from worksite will be attained through installation for insulating matting or tiger tails at a point of attachment.
